Six Vice Chairpersons elected for 16th National Assembly
VOV.VN - After electing the National Assembly Chairman, lawmakers voted to elect Vice Chairpersons, with six candidates approved. Of the six Vice Chairpersons, three are re-elected and two are women.
The National Assembly on the afternoon of April 6 adopted resolutions on the election of Vice Chairpersons and members of the Standing Committee.
The resolution on the election of members of the 16th National Assembly Standing Committee was approved with 487 out of 487 votes in favour, equivalent to 100% of deputies present and 97.40% of the total number of deputies.
The resolution on the election of Vice Chairpersons of the 16th legislature was approved with 496 out of 496 votes in favour, equivalent to 100% of deputies present and 99.20% of the total number of deputies.
Under the approved resolution, the 16th National Assembly has six Vice Chairpersons: Do Van Chien, Nguyen Khac Dinh, Nguyen Doan Anh, Nguyen Thi Thanh, Nguyen Thi Hong and Nguyen Hong Dien.
Among the six, Do Van Chien is a Politburo member, while the remaining five are members of the 14th Party Central Committee.
Immediately after the first working day of the first session of the 16th legislature, the 16th NA Standing Committee held its first meeting to give opinions on several important matters.
The meeting was chaired by NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man, with the newly elected Vice Chairpersons in attendance.
The Standing Committee gave opinions on the proposed assignment of responsibilities for the National Assembly Chairman, Vice Chairpersons and members of the 16th National Assembly Standing Committee; personnel proposed to the National Assembly for election; the number and list of Vice Chairpersons of the Ethnic Council, Vice Chairpersons of National Assembly committees, and members of the Ethnic Council and National Assembly committees of the 16th tenure; as well as other personnel-related matters.
