Russian expert hails multilateral Vietnamese diplomacy
VOV.VN - Vietnam has effectively implemented a policy of multilateral diplomacy, which has helped to turn itself into a modern country with increasing prestige in the region, according to Grigory Trofimchuk, chairman of the Expert Council of the Eurasian Foundation for Support of Scientific Research.
In a recent media interview, he emphasized that the country is located in the heart of Southeast Asia, which the whole world is turning attention to amid Asia developing into the engine of the global economy and politics.
As a proactive member of ASEAN and many other international organizations, the nation has made effective contributions to handling shortcomings in Southeast Asia and Asia as a whole, he stressed.
He went on to say that the country, with its persistence and creativity, has an important role to play in regional integration organizations, adding that as a responsible member of the geopolitical ones across the globe, including the UN, it has been widely applauded by its partners.
This can be seen as vivid illustration for the country’s effective implementation of its multilateral diplomacy, he highlighted.
He also commended Vietnamese Ambassadors who has worked to build a modern country with a weighty voice in the region.
According to Trofimchuk, the nation has enthusiastically engaged in humanitarian missions, as evidenced by the fact that it sent officers to earthquake-hit Turkey earlier this year in order to help their efforts in search and rescue work.
Furthermore, the Vietnamese side has also ramped up linkages with African and Middle Eastern nations across a multitude of fields, thereby helping to increase its influence on the global stage.
The country has affirmed itself as a strong nation that has great prestige in the world, he said, adding this is a result of the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
