RoK, Vietnam look to broader strategic partnership

VOV.VN - On August 18, Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee President Nguyen Thien Nhan held talks with the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn as part of his ongoing visit.

He also toured a hi-tech farm and learned about the technology of the Korea Telecom smart city.

During his meeting with National Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun earlier on August 17, Nhan introduced the major achievements of Vietnam’s 30-year renewal process.

The VFF leader called for the RoK's support in infrastructure development and cyber-security personnel training and ensuring favorable conditions for the 130,000 Vietnamese people living in the country.

Speaker Chung thanked Vietnam for facilitating Korean businesses, making the RoK the top investor in Vietnam in 2015.

He also vowed to offer the best possible conditions to protect the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese labourers in the host country.

The same day, VFF President Nguyen Thien Nhan had a meeting with Chairman of the RoK-Vietnam Friendship Association Choi Young-joo, during which he hailied the association’s contributions to the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

He also met with President of the Korean Foundation Lee Si-hyung and visited a smart farming model in Incheon city, Gyeonggi province where he was introduced to the application of information technology in cultivation and product consumption.
