Public Security Minister discusses Vietnam-US economic ties with AWS leader

VOV.VN - General Luong Tam Quang, Politburo member and Minister of Public Security, received Kerry Person, Vice President of Data Center Planning and Delivery at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Hanoi on March 4.

At the reception, Minister Quang hailed Amazon’s cooperation with Vietnamese ministries and agencies in recent years, and appreciated the company’s commitment and long-term cooperation strategy in Vietnam.

Luong Tam Quang said Vietnam is a market with strong development potential and ranks among the fastest-growing economies in Southeast Asia. The country has a high-quality research and development workforce and a favourable investment environment suited to the expansion of foreign businesses, including those from the United States.

He affirmed that, on the basis of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Ministry of Public Security will continue facilitating stable and favourable operations for enterprises, including Amazon, in Vietnam in line with Vietnamese law and international regulations.

Kerry thanked Minister Quang for his attention and guidance regarding cooperation with Amazon, spoke highly of Vietnam’s vision in promoting digital transformation, innovation and the development of secure and sustainable digital infrastructure.

He said Amazon remains committed to expanding its investment activities and supporting high-quality workforce development in Vietnam.

On this occasion, the Vice President expressed his wish to bolster substantive cooperation with units under the Ministry of Public Security as well as Vietnamese partners in compliance with Vietnamese and international law.

He said he believes joint efforts by both sides will enhance Vietnam-US economic and trade relations and bring practical benefits to both sides.
