Press Center opens ahead of Vietnam’s 14th Party Congress

VOV.VN - The Press Center for the 14th National Party Congress was officially opened on January 14 at the National Convention Center in Hanoi, followed by an international press briefing ahead of the Congress.

Following the assignment of responsibilities by the Organising Subcommittee for the 14th Party Congress, the Party Central Committee's Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation proactively coordinated with relevant agencies to establish the Press Center in support of media coverage.

Preparations for the organisation and operation of the Press Center have been carried out carefully and systematically. Facilities and technical infrastructure are fully equipped and modern, including high-speed internet access, more than 150 desktop and laptop computers, printing facilities, large display screens and other support services, ensuring suitable conditions for journalists covering the Congress.

To date, nearly 600 journalists and technicians from more than 110 domestic media organisations, along with nearly 80 journalists and media assistants from foreign news agencies, overseas Vietnamese media and representatives of political parties, have registered to cover the event-an increase compared with the 13th Party Congress.

The Press Center is coordinating with relevant agencies to facilitate media operations by domestic and international outlets, particularly national key media organisations, in providing clean broadcast signals and images, helping ensure timely and accurate reporting on the 14th Party Congress.

Arrangements have also been made to manage and coordinate journalists’ activities at the Press Center and within the Congress hall, while ensuring filming, photography and audio recording are conducted in an orderly and efficient manner. Logistical support for journalists and technical staff has also been carefully prepared.

Regarding information and communications work, the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilisation said coverage of the 14th Party Congress has been launched early and implemented in a coordinated and wide-ranging manner across the media.

Reporting has highlighted the country’s development achievements during the 13th Party Congress term and over 40 years of Doi Moi (renewal), as well as new strategic thinking and orientations reflected in Politburo resolutions. Media coverage has helped foster positive public attention and reinforce confidence among officials, Party members and the public in the Congress.

The 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam is scheduled to take place over seven days, from January 19 to January 25, 2026, in Hanoi. The Congress is a major political event, marking an important milestone in the development of the Party and the nation.

Immediately after the opening of the Press Center, an international press briefing on the 14th Party Congress was held.

At the briefing, information was provided and questions were answered on the political significance of the Congress, new elements in strategic thinking and development orientations compared with previous congresses, key contents of draft documents to be submitted, working regulations and personnel matters, as well as conditions for media operations at the Press Center.
