President Phuc suggests Russia join hands in COVID-19 fight
VOV.VN - President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on June 2 sent a letter to his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin to discuss bilateral relations, including stepping up joint work to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
In his letter, President Phuc affirmed that Vietnam always treasures its traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership with Russia, and aspires to effectively deepen bilateral ties.
The Vietnamese State leader showed his elation at the positive development of bilateral ties and congratulated Russia on containing the pandemic and successfully researching and producing many kinds of COVID-19 vaccines. He also hailed Vietnam – Russia joint efforts to fight the pandemic with a range of practical activities.
Phuc thanked Putin and Russia for providing Vietnam with 1,000 vaccine doses and medical supplies, while wishing that Russia would help Vietnam access its vaccines. He also extended his wishes to Putin and Russian people on the occasion of Russia Day (June 12).
