President Phuc begins official visit to Switzerland

VOV.VN - Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc arrived in Geneva, Switzerland on November 26 morning (local time), starting his official visit to the European nation at the invitation of his Swiss counterpart Guy Parmelin.

Those welcoming the President alongside his wife and entourage at Geneva International Airport included representatives from the Swiss Foreign Ministry and Geneva administration, Vietnamese Ambassador to Switzerland Le Linh Lan, Ambassador Le Thi Tuyet Mai, head of the Permanent Delegation of Vietnam to the UN, World Trade Organisation (WTO), and other international organisations in Geneva, among others.

As planned on the first day of his official visit to Switzerland following the welcome ceremony, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc is scheduled to hold talks with Swiss President Guy Parmelin, meet with President of the Swiss National Council Andreas Aebi, and attend the Vietnam-Switzerland Business Forum.

During the visit, President Phuc will visit the city of Bern, meet with the President of the Council of State of Geneva along with Vietnamese expatriates in Switzerland, and receive major Swiss groups.

 Phuc is set to hold a host of meetings with the Director-General of the UN Office at Geneva, the Director-General of the World Health Organisation, and the Director-General of the World Intelligence Property Organisation (WIPO), and the President of the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (FIFA).
