The leaders reaffirmed their shared perspectives on regional and global issues and pledged to maintain close cooperation at multilateral forums, particularly within ASEAN and the United Nations.

They underscored the importance of upholding ASEAN unity and a common stance on international and regional issues, including the East Sea (South China Sea), and stressed the need for peaceful dispute resolution based on international law, particularly the 1982 United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
