Policymakers continue deliberating draft laws

The National Assembly (NA) deputies deliberated a string of draft laws at a plenary sitting of the ongoing fifth session in Hanoi on June 5 with NA Deputy Chairman Uong Chu Luu in the chair.

During the session, Finance Minister Dinh Tien Dung presented a report on the draft amended Law on Thrift Practice and Wastefulness Prevention.

Chairman of the NA’s Committee for Finance and Budget Phung Quoc Hien then delivered a report on the draft amended Law on Thrift Practice and Wastefulness Prevention.

While discussing a draft law and ordinance building programme and its adjustments for the NA’s 13th tenure and this year, deputies pointed out weaknesses and shortcomings in the work and ways to ensure it is done as planned.

At the afternoon session, which was presided over by NA Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Minister of Planning and Investment Bui Quang Vinh delivered a report on the draft revised Law on Bidding.

Other reports featuring the Labour Law and its verification were tabled by Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Pham Thi Hai Chuyen and Chairwoman of the NA’s Committee for Social Affairs Truong Thi Mai, respectively.

Deputies later examine the draft law on amendments to Article 170 of the Corporate Law, which they found crucial.

On June 6, deputies will have a plenary session in the morning and hold group discussions in the afternoon.
