PM Phuc receives Nagasaki Governor
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has urged the Nagasaki prefecture to increase its cooperation with Quang Nam province and other Vietnamese localities in automobile manufacturing and shipbuilding.
Prime Minister Phuc made the call at a meeting on April 20 with the Governor of Nagasaki prefecture Nakamura Norimichi and a business delegation.
The PM welcomed the Vietnam visit by the Governor and his delegation to seek and expand opportunities for cooperation and investment with Vietnamese businesses and localities.
He suggested Nagasaki boost cooperation with Vietnamese localities, especially in the areas of Japan's strength like automobile manufacturing and ship building.
Governor Nirmichi said that since 2015, Nagasaki had organized 100 business delegations to go to Vietnam to participate in Japanese culture festivals in Hoi An as well as to seek investment opportunities in Vietnam.
The prefecture has a close relationship with Quang Nam province and plans to invite Quang Nam leaders to visit Nagasaki later this year.
The Nagasaki governor thanked Vietnam for selecting Nagasaki as a training venue for Vietnamese athletes to prepare for the 2020 Olympics.
The same day, PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc hosted a reception for Managing Director of the Republic of Korea (RoK)'s Hyundai Motor in charge of commercial vehicles S.K. Han, during which the PM greatly valued Hyundai’s cooperation with Vietnam’s Truong Hai Automobile Corporation (Thaco) to produce trucks and buses in Quang Nam as well as Hyundai’s goal to raise the localisation rate in vehicle production in Vietnam.
