PM Phuc expects higher trade value with Belarus
VOV.VN -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has expressed his wish for higher trade value beyond the current level of US$100 million given the two countries’ great potential for cooperation.

Vietnam always respects and desires to continue maintaining and reinforcing the sustainable ties of friendship and cooperation with Belarus, he told his guest.
High-level visits in recent years has provided the two countries with impetus to expand their cooperation across politics, economy, and people-to-people exchange. The free trade agreement between Vietnam and the Eurasian Economic Union that came into force in late 2016 opened up many new opportunities and prospects for economic-trade partnership, Phuc said.
The Belarusian Deputy PM briefed the Vietnamese government leader on the fruitful outcomes of his working session with the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam regarding their review on bilateral cooperation after one year and a half of carrying out the Vietnam-EEU free trade agreement and their combined efforts to deal with difficulties.
He suggested stepping bilateral cooperation in Belarus' strong fields such as the production of dairy, mechanical engineering and industrial products.
PM Phuc asked both sides to provide more business information to each other to increase bilateral trade while urging Belarus to support the stand of Vietnam and ASEAN on peaceful settlement of disputes in the East Sea on the basis of international law, particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS).
He assured Vietnam's readiness to provide optimal conditions for Belarusian businesses to cooperate, invest, and do productive, stable, and long-term business in line with Vietnam’s sustainable development.
He pledged that the country will work harder to help Belarus’s industrial, mechanical engineering, energy, and mining products gain an entry to its market.
