PM Pham Minh Chinh departs for European tour

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh departed Hanoi on October 31 for the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP26), and for his trips to the UK and France from October 31-November 5, at the invitation of his British and French counterparts Boris Johnson and Jean Castex

PM Chinh's attendance at the COP26 Leaders Summit therefore indicates the strong determination and efforts of the Vietnamese Government to both promote and implement international commitments, especially on global issues. These moves are capturing special attention from the international community which indicates that the country is an active member, along with being a reliable and responsible partner.

This also represents an opportunity for the nation to step up co-operation with bilateral partners, international organisations, and other multilateral partners. This can be done whilst seeking out opportunities to receive financial and technological support and strengthen capacity building for climate change response in the country.

The PM’s visits to the UK and France will help consolidate the political trusts and further deepen multi-faceted cooperation, thus making the relations with those two strategic partners become practical and effective across a variety of fields, especially in health care, pharmacy and vaccine diplomacy.

The trips are designed to continue carry out the Party and State’s foreign policy of independence, self-mastery, peace, cooperation and development; diversification and multilateralisation in foreign relations; proactive and active international integration; and being a friend, a trustable partner and a responsible member of the international community.

Through the meetings with the Vietnamese communities in those two countries, the visits will help build up the all-nation solidarity and strength and manifest gratitude to them for their recent support to the nation’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
