PM desires more Russian cooperation in preserving President HCM’s body

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has assigned the President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum Management Board to closely coordinate with Russian scientists and medical experts in preserving the body of President HCM with the highest responsibility.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on August 14 hosted a reception for a delegation of scientists and leaders of the All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants led by Sidelnikov Nikolai Ivanovich, director and academician of the Russian Federal Academy of Sciences, who is on a visit to Vietnam to attend a conference reviewing 30 years of cooperation between the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh President Mausoleum and the Institute.

The conference is viewed as an opportunity for the two sides to look back on their achievements in the past time, identify difficulties and challenges and outline orientations for future cooperation in order to more effectively carry out the conservation work in the long run, and  protect the absolute safety of President Ho Chi Minh's body.

Since President Ho Chi Minh's death, the Party, State and people of Vietnam have always considered the long-term preservation, absolute protection of the safety of his body, and promotion of the political and cultural significance of the mausoleum to be a special political and common task of the whole political system.

Over the past five decades, especially in the past 30 years of continuous medical cooperation, with the help, and direct training of Russian medical scientists, Vietnamese technical staff, and doctors have firmly mastered the technique of preparation and safe use of drugs to ensure that President Ho Chi Minh's body is always kept in the best state.

The Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum has become a work of profound political significance for the revolutionary cause of the Party, State and people of Vietnam, with practical value for moral education, lifestyle and personality for each Vietnamese people.

On behalf of the Party, State and People of Vietnam, PM Chinh expressed his sincere thanks to Russian scientists for their cooperation, assistance, support given to the Management Board of the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum in performing important political tasks, especially in the long-term preservation and absolute protection of the body of President Ho Chi Minh.

In response, Director, Academician Sidelnikov Nikolai Ivanovich affirmed that Russian scientists and medical experts will continue to effectively and closely cooperate with the Mausoleum Management Board in preserving President Ho Chi Minh's body with the highest responsibility as a contribution to constantly strengthening the long-standing and traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries and two peoples, as well as their comprehensive strategic partnership.

Vietnam is a tropical country with great potential for medicinal herbs, Chinh said, while asking the Russian Institute to expand cooperation with the Academy of Science and Technology and Vietnamese research facilities on medicinal herbs, essential oils and other research fields of the Russian Institute's strengths.

He underlined the need to step up close cooperation mechanisms that are flexible, effective, appropriate and mutually beneficial to the situation, helping develop Vietnam's pharmaceutical industry, improve medical capacity, and protect people's health.

Sidelnikov Nikolai Ivanovich highly agreed with the PM's proposal, saying that this is a very promising direction of cooperation and will discuss in detail with Vietnamese agencies for implementation in the near future.
