PM Chinh leaves Hanoi for COP28 and official visit to Turkey

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, his spouse and a high-ranking delegation of Vietnam on November 28 departed Hanoi to attend the 28th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP28) and have several bilateral activities in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and pay an official visit to Turkey from November 29 to December 3.

The trip is made at the invitation of the UAE government and the Turkish government.

The PM is accompanied by Minister and Chairman of the Government Office Tran Van Son, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment Dang Quoc Khanh, Minister of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs Dao Ngoc Dung, Deputy Minister of Defence Pham Hoai Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Van Tuyen, Deputy Chief of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Office Bui Van Thach, and Deputy Foreign Minister Do Hung Viet, among other officials.

The Vietnamese Government leader's attendance at the COP28 and his official visit to Turkey hold important significance, both affirming Vietnam's consistent policy on green growth and climate change response, while affirming Vietnam's role and position in regional and international cooperation frameworks.

Along with that, this business trip contributes to strengthening political trust and improving the effectiveness of cooperation between Vietnam and the UAE and Turkey, while extending a message of strong commitment and responsible contribution to a peaceful, sincere, trustworthy Vietnam which is ready to strengthen friendly relations, dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation toward building a peaceful and stable regional and international environment with other countries.

​The business trip continues to concretize Vietnam’s foreign policy adopted at the 13th National Party Congress on continuing to promote and improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs and international integration" and Directive No. 25 of the Party Secretariat on promoting and elevating multilateral foreign relations until 2030.

The PM’s Turkey visit and activities in the UAE are of great significance amid Vietnam celebrating the 45th and 30th anniversary of its diplomatic ties with Turkey and the UAE, respectively.
