VOV.VN - During his ongoing visit to Cuba, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong held talks with President of Cuba’s National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandes, visited Vo Thi Thang primary school in Havana and met with Vietnamese embassy staff and overseas Vietnamese representatives.

On the afternoon of March 28 (local time), the special aircraft carrying Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong and a high-ranking delegation landed at José Martí International Airport in Havana.

The Party leader was greeted at the airport by President of National Assembly of People's Power Esteban Lazo Hernández, head of the Cuban Communist Party Central Committee's Department for External Relations Jossé Ramón Balaguer Cabrera and other Cuban Party and government leaders.

Representatives of Overseas Vietnamese and Vietnamese alumni in Cuba welcome Mr Trong at the airport.

Party leader Trong lays a floral wreath at the President Ho Chi Minh Monument in the Hoa Binh (Peace) Park. Also present are Vice President of the Council of State Lazara Mecerdes Lospes Acea, Cuban ambassador to Vietnam Lianys Torres Rivera, a large number of local residents and school pupils.

The President Ho Chi Minh Monument was inaugurated on May 19, 2003 to mark the 113th birthday ofHo Chi Minh.

On the morning of March 29 (local time), Party leader Trong held talks with President of Cuba’s National Assembly Esteban Lazo Hernandes.

Mr Trong and his entourage visit Vo Thi Thang primary school in Havana.

Cuban Minister of Education Ena Elsa Velázquez says the school is honoured to welcome Party leader Trong and the high-level delegation, noting that the school was proud to bear the name of a brave Vietnamese hero, who began fighting invaders in her twenty.

Cuban school pupils in Vietnamese traditional Ao Dai deliver art performances to welcome Mr Trong and his entourage.

First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Councils of State and Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz hosts a welcome ceremony for Party leader Trong.

The two leaders hold talks after the welcome ceremony.

Mr Trong presents the Golden Star Order to First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Central Committee and President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz.
