Party leader urges application of science and technology in criminal investigation
VOV.VN - Party General Secretary To Lam on February 26 visited and extended New Year greetings to the Security Investigation Agency under the Ministry of Public Security, urging stronger application of science and technology to support the investigation and handling of criminal cases.
Extending New Year wishes to officers and soldiers of the agency, the Party chief acknowledged the achievements of the People’s Public Security forces and the Security Investigation Agency in recent years and in 2025.
He stressed that tasks in 2026 and the years ahead will be considerable, calling on officers and soldiers to uphold absolute loyalty to the Party, the State and the people, and to fulfil their mission of maintaining political stability and social order. He urged the agency to affirm a proactive role in ensuring effective implementation of tasks related to national construction and defence.
The agency should take the lead in correctly selecting and promptly and effectively implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, strategic resolutions of the Party, the Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Public Security Party Organisation, and the Resolution of the A09 Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term, while firmly investigating and strictly handling acts that distort or sabotage Party resolutions, he said.
The Party chief also instructed the agency to proactively grasp developments from an early stage and from afar, avoid passivity in all situations, and address national security issues in line with the country’s interests. He called for early identification, investigation and strict handling of acts that distort or undermine Party guidelines and policies, alongside a stronger shift toward prevention. This includes detecting and recommending remedies for shortcomings in state management in order to reduce conditions conducive to crime, ensuring strict enforcement of the law toward building a law-abiding, orderly, disciplined, fair and civilised society.
In particular, he underscored the need to strengthen force building and modernise facilities and equipment to meet task requirements, placing personnel development as a central and urgent task. He called for digital transformation, dynamism and creativity, and the application of science and technology to support the investigation and handling of criminal cases.
