NEC personnel subcommittee meets to prepare for upcoming election

VOV.VN - Tran Thanh Man, vice chairman of the National Election Council (NEC) and head of the NEC Personnel Subcommittee, chaired a meeting on May 17, with a specific focus on giving opinions on the subcommittee’s activities and to review preparations for the forthcoming election.

Upon reporting on the work that has been carried out since the fourth NEC meeting, along with future activities, Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan, deputy head of the Personnel Subcommittee, said that the Subcommittee has helped the NEC consider the profile of candidates put forward. Most have been nominated by various socio-political organisations, social organisations, people's armed forces, and centrally- run state agencies to the National Assembly (NA). In addition, participants at the event will receive dossiers and a list of candidates put forward as NA deputies sent by election commissions of centrally-run provinces and cities.

Furthermore, the subcommittee also helped the NEC to send a list of résumés, copies of brief biographies, and declarations of assets and incomes of people nominated for election to the NA Standing Committee to the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) so they can carry out consultations.

Upon reviewing the subcommittee's tasks during the course of both April and May, Man said that the Personnel Subcommittee attended the third consultation conference organised by the VFF Central Committee. They have also assisted the NEC in promulgating documents on the allocation of candidates at the central level to localities to stand for election to the 15th legislature.

Moreover, the Personnel Subcommittee also helped the NEC to make and announce the official list of candidates for the 15th NA at each constituency, whilst also settling complaints, denunciations, and considering personnel-related issues.

Man said that preparations for election day have been carried out in accordance with requirements and set plans. Moving forward, the NEC is scheduled to hold an online national conference on May 18 to discuss issues related to the upcoming election, he added.
