The host asked the WHO to continue assisting Vietnam in public health care, with a focus on updating health situation in Vietnam, the region and the world, sharing its experience in devising and carrying out policies on prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable diseases, and working closely with Vietnam in disease control, particularly newly-emerging epidemics.

Kasai, for his part, expressed interest in further supporting Vietnam in public health care, providing the country with world health information and solutions to public health care issues.

He wished that Vietnam would share its achievements and difficulties in the process so that the WHO and other international health care organisations could support Vietnam in the near future.
