NA Vice Chairman receives US-ASEAN Business Council President
VOV.VN - On August 25, National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Phung Quoc Hien received a delegation from the US-ASEAN Business Council led by its President & CEO Alexander Feldman in Hanoi.
Hien said the Vietnam NA has always offered good conditions for foreign enterprises to invest and expand their business in Vietnam.
He suggested American enterprises, while doing business in Vietnam, should pay more attention to environmental issues, social responsibility, human resource development, and technological transfer towards sustainable development.
"The Vietnamese law-making body has reviewed the legal system in accordance with the Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement (TPP) and will consider ratifying it soon. He expected that the US will ratify the TPP early for the political and economic interests of both countries and the whole region," Hien said.
For his part, Alexander C Feldman glowingly spoke of the role of Vietnam’s legislature in promoting the local economy, along with the optimal conditions given to the US’s investment and business activities.
He also wanted the NA to ratify the TPP in the near future to generate more opportunities for respective enterprises’ cooperation, thereby strengthening relations.
