NA Vice Chairman holds talks with Japanese lawmakers
VOV.VN - Japanese House of Representatives Speaker Nukaga Fukushiro, and National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Tran Quang Phuong have discussed Vietnam-Japan relations as well as ties between the two legislatures at a recent meeting as part of the latter’s visit to Japan.

During the meeting, Speaker Nukaga applauded the steady progress of bilateral relations across multiple fields and expressed confidence that the friendship and cooperation between the two countries would continue to grow stronger in the time ahead.
Sharing this view, Vice Chairman Phuong stressed, “Since the establishment of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership two years ago, Vietnam-Japan relations have developed substantively and effectively in a multitude of areas, with increasing political trust.
Cooperation in economics, trade, and investment has expanded, particularly in the new pillar of science, technology, and innovation. Defence and security cooperation has also become more substantive and in-depth.
On the occasion, Vice Chairman Phuong conveyed a letter from NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man inviting Speaker Nukaga to visit Vietnam.
Following his meeting with the House Speaker, Vice Chairman Phuong also held talks with House of Councillors Vice President Fukuyama Tetsuro. The two leaders exchanged extensive views on measures to further strengthen bilateral relations and agreed to continue working to elevate ties to new heights.

Fukuyama highlighted that parliamentary exchanges between the two sides have been taking place actively. He recalled that during NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s visit to Japan in October 2024, the Vietnamese NA and the Japanese House of Councillors signed a memorandum of cooperation, thus creating a foundation for stronger ties in the future.
In August, a delegation of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Parliamentary Alliance also visited Vietnam. He expressed confidence that bilateral relations would see further progress in the coming period.
According to his working agenda, Vice Chairman Phuong is scheduled to meet with the President of the House of Councillors and hold talks with the Vice Speaker of the House of Representatives on September 30.
