NA Vice Chairman hails Heineken Vietnam’s three-decade achievements

VOV.VN - National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Nguyen Duc Hai has lauded Heineken Vietnam's impressive track record during more than three decades, which has helped strengthen the Vietnam-Netherlands and the Vietnam-European Union partnerships.

During a reception on August 30 in Hanoi for Managing Director of Heineken Vietnam Wieste Mutters, Hai congratulated his guest on his recent appointment and dual role as Chairman of the Dutch Business Association in Vietnam.

He applauded Heineken Vietnam for its practical contributions to environment sustainability, social responsibility, and advocacy for "responsible drinking".

In 2023, Heineken Vietnam was recognised as one of Vietnam’s two most sustainable businesses and was also known for its pioneering efforts in promoting a circular economy and reducing carbon emissions. Hai showed his confidence that at the helm of Mutters, Heineken Vietnam will continue to grow and flourish.

In reply, Mutters, for his part, thanked the Vietnamese legislature for its pro-business policies and expressed hope for continued supportive policies from Vietnamese ministries and agencies.

According to him, the company is using 99% renewable energy and committed to achieving zero carbon emissions in production by 2030. The guest also showed commitment to further investment in the Vietnamese market in the time ahead.

In response, Hai affirmed that the Vietnamese NA will support and create a legal framework conducive to the operations by both domestic and foreign businesses, including those from Europe.

Vietnam will continue to fine-tune its legal system in line with international practices and commitments and stay open to firms’ ideas, he added.
