NA Standing Committee convenes 24th session

VOV.VN - The 15th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee opened the 24th session on July 12 in Hanoi under the chair of NA Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue.

The top Vietnamese legislator said that during the 2.5-day session, the Standing Committee is scheduled to scrutinise the draft law on roads and the draft law on road traffic order and safety. The two drafts are set to be submitted to the NA for consideration at the sixth session which will take place later this year and for approval at the seventh session next year.
A draft resolution on the organisation of district- and communal-level administrative units for the 2023 to 2030 period will also touched upon.

The Standing Committee will give its opinions on the initial results of the supervision over the implementation of the NA’s Resolution No 88 and Resolution No 51 on reforming the general education curriculum and textbooks, which NA Chairman Hue said is an important and sensitive issue of public concern.

It will also look into the settlement of people’s opinions, along with the review of the 10-year implementation of the inter-sectoral resolution, dated September 27, 2012, on NA deputies’ contact with voters which will be reviewed so that the Standing Committee will consider whether or not this resolution should be revised.

Lawmakers will also review the outcomes of the NA’s fifth session, held in late May and early June, as well as discuss preparations for the upcoming sixth session.
