NA leader visits Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies
VOV.VN - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man and his spouse visited the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies (TSUOS) on April 7, where they met with local lecturers and students studying the Vietnamese language as part of their official trip to Uzbekistan.

As one of Uzbekistan's oldest and most prestigious universities, TSUOS has developed extensive international cooperation programs with academic institutions and research centers around the world, including Vietnam. The university notably hosts a Vietnamese language faculty.
In his conversation with the faculty's lecturers and students, the NA leader emphasized that, despite their geographical distance, Vietnam and Uzbekistan share many cultural and historical similarities.
Highlighting the vital role of language as a bridge between nations and peoples, Man noted that learning Vietnamese not only equips students with language skills but also provides insights into the vibrant culture of Vietnam, a country with over 100 million people known for its resilience, creativity, hospitality, and generosity. More importantly, he stressed, their studies contribute to strengthening the friendship between the two nations.

The NA leader expressed his hope that many of the students would go on to become diplomats, entrepreneurs, teachers, interpreters, or researchers on Vietnam, playing a key role in furthering cooperation between the two countries.
He also expressed a desire for more students to have the opportunity to visit Vietnam in the future, whether for further studies, work, or to experience firsthand the country’s dynamic development and rich culture.
Man also praised the TSUOS for its memorandum of understanding with Vietnam National University, Hanoi, signed in 2011, and the joint cultural and linguistic research programs that have been implemented. He expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries will continue to deepen, bringing about a future of peace, sustainability, and prosperity.

Earlier in the day, the NA leader held discussions with the university’s leadership, encouraging closer collaboration with major Vietnamese universities. He also called for joint projects involving lecturers and students, the integration of digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) in education, and for Uzbekistani scholars to participate in the upcoming 7th Vietnam Studies Seminar this year.
Later, the NA leader, accompanied by his spouse and high-ranking Vietnamese NA delegation, laid a floral tribute at the Independence Monument in Tashkent.
