NA holds eighth extraordinary session to consider personnel work
VOV.VN - The 15th National Assembly (NA) convened its eighth extraordinary session on August 26 in Hanoi to scrutinize personnel affairs.
Those in attendance at the session included Party General Secretary and State President To Lam; Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Luong Cuong, standing member of the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat; Do Van Chien, president of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee; other Party and State leaders; and leaders of centrally-run agencies and localities.
During the one-day session, the law-making body is set to discuss and give opinions regarding the removal of the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy who are about to take on other duties.
It will also adopt the removal of one Deputy PM and the Minister of Justice for other duties, as well as the removal of another Deputy PM and the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment from their work. Additionally, one member of the 15th NA will be dismissed at this session.
The legislature will also discuss and opine the addition of one Deputy PM for the 15th NA term and approve the appointment of three other Deputy Prime Ministers, along with the Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and the Minister of Justice. They will also take time to elect the Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court and the Prosecutor General of the Supreme People's Procuracy.
NA Chairman Tran Thanh Man has requested that NA deputies promote democracy, uphold a strong sense of responsibility, and thoroughly review and discuss the personnel decisions to ensure that personnel work is done in a strict manner compliant to laws in line with the Party's regulations and the State’s laws, thus resulting in a high level of consensus and unity.
Earlier on August 16, the 13th Party Central Committee held a meeting to review and give opinions on personnel work. The Committee decided to introduce personnel and provide opinions for the Politburo to introduce personnel to complete the leadership of a number of state agencies for the 2021 to 2026 term in line with regulations.
