NA Chairwoman visits Vietnamese Embassy in Kazakhstan
VOV.VN - National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan described the Vietnam Embassy as an important bridge for the promotion of the sound relations between Vietnam and Kazakhstan when visiting the Embassy on October 16 evening right after her arrival in Astana.
Bilateral trade between the two countries has doubled as a result of the signing of the Vietnam-Eurasian Economic Union Free Trade Agreement (VN-EAEU FTA) and Kazakhstani businesses’ desire to partner with their Vietnamese counterparts.
On culture and social affairs, the Embassy also published a bilingual book featuring late President Ho Chi Minh’s life and career which was first translated into Kazakhstan language. This book is seen as a gift for Kazakhstan readers on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties, Ms Hien said.
The top legislator, in turn, spoke highly of the Embassy’s attainments, saying that political diplomacy tasks pave the way for boosting economic diplomacy, cross-cultural exchanges and tourism.
Ms Ngan also informed the Embassy staff and OVs about the domestic situation and the sixth plenum of the Party Central Committee which showed good signs of socio-economic development with macro-economic stability and ensured social welfare.
The Party, State and National Assembly’s effective diplomatic activities have helped raised Vietnam’s international and regional profile.
Preparations for the fourth session of the 14th National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee have finalized. During the session, the NA will give opinions and adopt a number of important draft laws, including a law on Vietnamese representative offices abroad, Ms Ngan added.
