NA Chairman departs for Senegal, Morocco and global parliamentary summit in Switzerland
VOV.VN - National Assembly (NA) Chairman Tran Thanh Man, accompanied by his spouse and a high-ranking Vietnamese delegation departed Hanoi on the morning of July 22 for official visits to Senegal and Morocco, attendance at the 6th World Conference of Speakers of Parliament, and bilateral activities in Switzerland.

The visits are made at the invitation of President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Tulia Ackson, IPU Secretary-General Martin Chungong, Speaker of the Moroccan House of Representatives Rachid Talbi Alami, and Speaker of the Senegalese National Assembly El Malick Ndiaye.
This marks the top Vietnamese legislator’s first overseas working trip to Switzerland, and his first official visits to Morocco and Senegal. It is also the first official visit by a key Vietnamese leader to Morocco in six years, and to Senegal since the two countries established diplomatic relations.
The trip is designed to further enhance the good, mutually beneficial relations and cooperation between Vietnam and Senegal, Morocco, and Switzerland; and to promote ties between Vietnam and the broader African and European regions.
At the same time, the visit presents an opportunity for Vietnam to diversify its economic and trade ties, expand cooperation across various fields, including parliamentary relations with Senegal, Morocco, and Switzerland, mobilize international resources in support of national development goals during the era of the nation’s rise, and raise the profile and stature of both Vietnam and its NA in the international arena.
Chairman Tran Thanh Man’s trip also serves to reaffirm Vietnam’s major policies and strong efforts in socio-economic development, its commitment to multilateralism, and its determination to demonstrate a responsible, substantive, and active role in IPU and United Nations affairs.
The visit is expected to advance Vietnam’s parliamentary relations with other countries and international organizations, while contributing to further elevating the role and global profile of Vietnam and its legislature.
