Middle East press highlights historic significance of US President's Vietnam visit
VOV.VN - The first State visit to Vietnam by US President Joe Biden, as well as Vietnam and the US moving to upgrade their relationship to a "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership", has been widely covered by many major newspapers and media agencies in the Middle East region with numerous positive comments.
Egyptian newspaper "al-Ahram" assessed that the US President's visit to the nation was of historic significance, particularly amid the joint relationship achieving plenty of advances.
The newspaper quoted President Biden's statement at the press conference held on the afternoon of September 10 in Hanoi, in which the US leader praised the overall improvement and development of ties over recent years, saying that this will serve as the driving force to achieve prosperity and security for both nations.
Furthermore, Egyptian newspaper "Today's News" (akhbarelyom) also assessed the two countries as important partners of each other. At the beginning of his visit to Vietnam, US President Biden affirmed that the two nations boast the opportunity to shape the Indo-Pacific region over the coming decades.
During talks held with Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, President Biden expressed hope that the two countries will make progress in the fields of climate change response, economics, and other issues.
Elsewhere, Bahrain's News Agency, Saudi Arabia's "alarabiya" newspaper, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) newspaper "alkhaleej", and many other newspapers in the region also reported on the state visit to Vietnam made by President Biden, with plenty of positive comments and assessments.
