Memorial and burial services for former PM Khai

VOV.VN - A solemn memorial service for former Prime Minister Phan Van Khai was held at Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City at 7:30 am on March 22. A burial service took place his homeland in Tan Thong Hoi commune, Cu Chi district, HCM City the same day.

The convoy leaves Thong Nhat Hall running through several streets in HCM City and then heading to the former PM’s hometown in Tan Thong Hoi commune in the district of Cu Chi.

HCM City residents stand both sides of streets, paying their last respect to the former Government leader.

Present at the burial ceremony are permanent member of the Secretariat of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee (PCC) Tran Quoc Vuong, former President Truong Tan Sang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, former Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung, National Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Vice NA Chairwoman Tong Thi Phong, head of the PCC’s Organisation Commission Pham Minh Chinh, and head of the PCC’s Commission for Communication and Education Vo Van Thuong.



Party and State leaders throw the first handfuls of soil over the casket, bidding their last farewells to the former Government leader.
