Latvia aspires to boost all-around cooperation with Vietnam
VOV.VN - Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics has expressed his nation's desire to promote cooperation with Vietnam across multiple fields, thereby deepening bilateral relations and bringing practical benefits to the two nations' people.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkevics was speaking this during a meeting with Vietnamese Ambassador to Latvia Tran Van Tuan who came to present the Credentials of President Vo Van Thuong.
In his speech at the credential presentation ceremony, President Rinkevics welcomed Ambassador Tran Van Tuan for taking up his tasks in the Republic of Latvia and expressed his joy at the good development of relations between Vietnam and the European Union (EU) in general and Latvia in particular, especially in the field of economics and trade.
Rinkevics also said that more and more Vietnamese students are studying at Latvian educational institutions and have achieved good academic results.
For his part, Ambassador Tran Van Tuan conveyed cordial greetings and best wishes from President Vo Van Thuong and senior leaders of Vietnam to President Rinkevics.
He emphasized that Vietnam always values and wishes to further develop friendly relations and multifaceted cooperation with the Republic of Latvia.
The Vietnamese diplomat affirmed that in his position, he will make greater efforts to foster relations between the two countries in a variety of fields. In the immediate future, the Embassy will coordinate with Latvian competent agencies to organize business delegations from the European nation aimed at exploring the investment and business environment in Vietnam in early 2025.
On the same day, Ambassador Tran Van Tuan also paid a courtesy visit to Vice Chairman of the Latvian National Assembly Janis Grasbergs. The two sides compared notes on international and regional issues of mutual concern as well as a number of measures to propel Vietnam - Latvia relations forward in the coming time.
