Laos, Vietnam bolster cooperation between public security forces

VOV.VN - Politburo member and Minister of Public Security Gen. To Lam hosted a reception on March 5 in Hanoi for Khonsi NaoValat, head of the Representative Agency of the Lao Ministry of Public Security in Vietnam.

Minister Lam congratulated NaoValat on being appointed by the Lao Ministry of Public Security as head of the Lao Ministry of Public Security Representative Agency in Vietnam, wishing him a successful fulfilment of his tasks as he takes on a new position.

He highlighted the rare traditional friendship and solidarity that has existed between Vietnam and Laos in the past to the present that has always been preserved and nurtured by generations of leaders and people of the two countries, becoming an invaluable asset of the two peoples.

Amid the world and region continuing to see complicated developments, with many unstable and unpredictable factors directly impacting the cause of national construction and protection of each country, the two ministries of public security need to boost co-operation to firmly protect national security interests, maintain order, and keep social safety. This should be done for the peaceful, happy, and prosperous life of both nations’ citizens.

Therefore, the two countries' police forces must work to strengthen closer and more comprehensive ties, in which the tasks of the two representative agencies of the two ministries are to function as a bridge between the two ministries, thereby playing a very important role in transmitting information and requiring co-ordination between the professional forces of the two sides.

This can serve as a means of giving advice to the leaders of the two ministries in promoting and implementing linkages as a means of ensuring close collaboration to meet practical requirements, Minister Lam told his guest.

The Vietnamese Minister expressed his confidence that through the efforts and close relations between the police forces of the two ministries, Vietnam and Laos will soon overcome difficulties and challenges to ensure national security and maintain social order in each country.

He proposed that, in his new position, NaoValat continue to promote the results achieved by comrades in the previous term, closely co-ordinate with units of the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security to effectively deploy programmes and plans for in-depth collaboration between the two ministries.

This should be done with the aim of achieving practical results as a contribution to deepening the friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation between the two Parties, the State, and people of the two countries in general, as well as between the two countries' police forces in particular.

In response, NaoValat hailed the fruitful co-operation between the two ministries in recent times, especially in crime prevention and in combating efforts to ensure security and order in each nation.

He said that he believes that the co-operative relations between the police forces of both sides will increasingly develop and deepen, thereby practically serving the socio-economic development and foreign affairs tasks of each country.

NaoValat affirmed that, in his new position, he will continue to act as a bridge contributing to developing the special friendly co-operative relations between the two countries as well as between the two ministries of public security to new heights for the benefit of the two peoples.
