He held that the associations will serve as a bridge for promoting people-to-people exchanges along with business and investment partnerships for the sake of common interests and each country’s development.

Vinh, who is also Chairman of the Vietnamese National Assembly’s Committee for Cultural and Educational Affairs, reported on the outstanding results of the associations’ cooperation.

He affirmed that the Vietnam - Laos and Laos - Vietnam friendship associations will keep close coordination in educating the youth and people in the special relations and helping develop those ties in an increasingly substantive and effective manner.

Earlier, the visiting delegation of the Vietnam - Laos Friendship Association had talks with representatives of the Laos - Vietnam Friendship Association led by its Chairman Boviengkham Vongdara.

The two sides reviewed the collaboration in the recent past, discussed orientations for coming activities, especially those to be held to mark the two countries’ big anniversaries, and informed each other about their countries’ situation.

They agreed to maintain coordination, opinion sharing, and organisation of joint activities to help further develop the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, States, and peoples, thereby generating practical benefits for both.

The associations also concurred in pushing ahead with education - training partnerships, promote activities helping the countries’ youth unions and young people increase exchanges and mutual understanding, encourage Vietnamese and Lao entrepreneurs to invest and contribute to economic development in each other’s nations, and work together to facilitate frequent exchanges between the war veterans’ associations of the two countries.

Besides, they will work closely to organise events in celebration of big anniversaries of Vietnam and Laos, according to the officials.
