Lao Mission in Geneva extends congratulations to Vietnam on 80th National Day
Ambassador Daovy Vongxay, Permanent Representative of Laos to the United Nations (UN), the World Trade Organisation (WTO), and other international organisations in Geneva, has highlighted the close coordination between the Vietnamese and Lao missions at multilateral forums in Geneva.

During a visit to the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN, WTO, and other international organisations in Geneva to extend congratulations on the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 – 2025), he expressed confidence that the two missions would continue to support each other in all circumstances, thereby contributing to further nurturing the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the Parties, States, and peoples of the two countries, while working together for prosperity, peace, and development in both nations.
On this occasion, Ambassador Vongxay extended his best wishes to Vietnam, its leadership, and all officials of the Vietnamese Mission in Geneva. He also voiced hope for stronger ties between the two missions in the years ahead and suggested organising a sports festival to foster exchange and friendship among officials and their families.
On behalf of the Vietnamese Mission in Geneva, Ambassador Mai Phan Dung thanked Ambassador Vongxay and his colleagues for their meaningful congratulations and solidarity. He stressed that the close coordination and active cooperation between the two missions in recent years are a vivid reflection of the special fraternity and the comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.
The diplomat affirmed that the Vietnamese Mission will continue to work closely with its Lao counterpart to further preserve and strengthen the special friendship, solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two nations, particularly in the multilateral arena of Geneva, contributing to the development of both countries.
