Lao media highlight results of Vietnamese President’s official visit
VOV.VN - Lao newspapers and radio and television stations on April 11 and April 12 published a series of articles, photos, and programmes highlighting the activities and outcomes of the official visit to Laos made by President Vo Van Thuong from April 10 to April 11 at the invitation of General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith.
In its article published on April 12, PathetLao, a publication of the Laos News Agency KPL, affirmed that the Vietnamese State leader’s visit aimed to strengthen the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation between the two countries.
Titled "Congratulations on achievements in comprehensive cooperation between Laos and Vietnam", the article focused on outcomes of talks between the two leaders, thereby underlining that they have consented to continue effectively implementing high-level agreements between the two Parties and countries, as well as those at ministerial and local levels. This has ultimately contributed to creating a new impetus to further reinforce bilateral relations.
Meanwhile, Laotian Party newspaper Pasaxon highlighted that President Sisoulith praised the Vietnamese leader's decision to choose Laos as the first foreign country to visit in his position of State President.
It reviewed the results of linkages between the two countries over recent times in various areas and noted that the two leaders had stressed that the great friendship, special solidarity, and all-around co-operation have enjoyed fruitful developments and are now in their best period of development. Indeed, both sides affirmed their determination to preserve and promote this special relationship in a practical manner.
Both PathetLao and Pasaxon emphasised that the visit indicates the importance attached by the Vietnamese Party and State to the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive ties that exist between the two countries, thus cultivating and further developing this unique relationship.
Vientiane Times put the results of meetings between President Thuong and key Laotian leaders during his visit on the front page on April 12, saying that both sides have consented to further deepen mutual ties.
It said that the leaders of the two countries have consented to further enhancing the friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation for the common interests of the two peoples; as well as pledging to continue strengthening mutual support through bilateral and multilateral frameworks in the regional and international arena.
Lao media also highlighted the results of meetings between President Thuong and Laos National Assembly Chairman Xaysomphone Phomvihane, Laos Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, President of the Laos Front for National Construction Sinlavong Khoutphaythone, and Boviengkham Vongdara, chairman of the Lao-Vietnam Friendship Association.
