Korean Foreign Minister due to arrive in Hanoi on September 17

VOV.VN - Foreign Minister of the Republic of Korea (RoK) Kang Kyung Wha is scheduled to arrive in Hanoi on September 17 for an official visit to Vietnam from September 17-18 at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.

This is Kang Kyung Wha's second official visit to Vietnam following her first trip in March 2018.

During the visit, the Korean diplomat is set to hold talks with Deputy Prime Minister cum Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh, and pay a courtesy visit to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

The visit takes place in the context of the two nations continuing to maintain the Vietnam-RoK strategic cooperation partnership with strengthened political trust and high-level exchanges maintained through flexible online forms despite the negative impact from the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

The RoK continues to be one of the most important economic partners of Vietnam.

Vietnam has offered favourale conditions for about 6,000 Korean entrepreneurs to enter the nation in order to maintain economic activities. It has also carried out the step-by-step process that allows foreigners, including Korean citizens, to enter Vietnam to work for a short time, and to resume commercial routes with the RoK.

The official visit to Vietnam by Korean Foreign Minister Kang Kyung Wha shows that the RoK is a safe partner and capable of combating the COVID-19 pandemic, while it places importance on promoting relations with Vietnam and cooperation with ASEAN.
