Israeli authorities responsible for Vietnamese citizens in conflict zone

VOV.VN - Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Yaron Mayer has affirmed that Israeli authorities are responsible for Vietnamese citizens currently present in Israel during the latest military conflict between the Israeli army and the armed group Hamas of Palestine.

In a recent interview granted with VOV Online regarding the matter of Vietnamese citizens in Israel during the latest conflict between Israeli and the Palestinian armed faction Hamas, Israeli Ambassador to Vietnam Yaron Mayer said in Israel there are currently Vietnamese citizens including international students and tourists.

Ambassador Mayer affirmed that Israeli authorities take full responsibility for ensuring their safety in emergency situations, as well as treating them the same as Israeli citizens.

He also asserted that so far Vietnamese citizens are safe and sound, adding that in any situation Israeli authorities will be ready to provide them with medical care.

According to details given by the Israeli diplomat, Israel currently maintains both its incoming and outgoing flight schedules.

According to the diplomat, the Vietnamese Embassy based in Tel Aviv continue to be in full contact with local authorities.

Ambassador Mayer was on vacation in Israel when there was a sudden attack by the Islamic armed movement Hamas in southern Israel. The Israeli army then retaliated against the Gaza strip, where Hamas forces are located.
