HCM City seeks broader co-operation with Cambodian localities

VOV.VN - Phan Van Mai, chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee, hosted a reception on January 31 for Sok Dareth, Cambodian Consul General in the southern city, who came to bid farewell at the end of his tenure.

In his address, Sok Dareth thanked the city’s leaders for supporting his office, adding that ties between the two nations and relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodian localities are continuing to grow steadily.

He outlined his hopes that municipal authorities will continue to support the new Cambodian Consul General, as well as Cambodian students and people.

In response, Mai hailed Sok Dareth’s contributions to strengthening relations between Vietnam and Cambodia, as well as relations between Ho Chi Minh City and Cambodian localities.

He gave assurances of the municipal administration’s willingness to support the Cambodian Consulate General and the Cambodian community in the city, adding that the southern metropolis will enhance transport linkage and infrastructure to facilitate further trade and co-operation with Cambodian localities moving forward.
