HCM City leader affirms strong Vietnam-Mongolia ties during Ulaanbaatar visit
The Vietnamese Party and State always attach great importance to developing traditional friendship with the Mongolian People's Party and the State of Mongolia, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen told General Secretary of the ruling MPP Yangug Sodbaatar in Ulaanbaatar on July 4.
Nen commended Mongolia's achievements and expressed his confidence in the Mongolian Government's ability to realise its major orientations and strategic goals, solidifying the country's global and regional position.
Sodbaatar, for his part, highlighted the significance of Nen's visit coinciding with the 70th anniversary of Vietnam-Mongolia diplomatic relations.
The MPP and Mongolian State highly value and prioritise promoting ties with Vietnam, he said.
Both sides agreed to enhance relations through Party, State and people-to-people channels, including maintaining the exchange of all-level delegations, and jointly holding celebrations for the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties this year.
They will strengthen party-to-party relations, leverage the strategic direction role of both ruling parties in the overall bilateral relationship, step up substantive and effective collaboration in economy, trade and investment that match each country's potential and strength. Priority will also be given to enhancing people-to-people and locality-to-locality exchanges to raise mutual understanding and friendship, thereby creating a solid social foundation for the continued development of Vietnam-Mongolia ties.
During his visit, Nen also met with the Ulaanbaatar governor and visited a local school named after Ho Chi Minh, the revered Vietnamese leader./
