HCM City desires stronger vocational training cooperation with German state

VOV.VN - Ho Chi Minh City wishes to cooperate with Thuringia state of Germany in vocational training and in the improvement of the quality of tertiary education, Secretary of the city’s Party Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan said during his reception on April 11 for the state’s Minister-President Bodo Ramelow. 

Nhan said the visit of the German state’s leader taking place in the context of positive developments in Vietnam-Germany ties will open up plenty of opportunities for stronger cooperation between localities of the two countries. 

HCM City desires to work with Thuringia in such areas as transport infrastructure, and AI solutions to solve problems in urban development, Nhan told his guest. 

For his part, Bodo Ramelow said that the participation of representatives from 70 businesses, universities and research institutes in Thuringia in his visit showed their interest in cooperation with Vietnam, including HCM City. 

He suggested both sides should work hand in hand in high technology, water management, trade and SMEs while noting that as many as 240 Vietnamese students in Thuringia and the state want to receive more Vietnamese students.

The Minister-President of Thuringia is on an eight-day working visit to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh.
