Hanoi, Vientiane share experience in front affairs

VOV.VN - Nguyen Lan Huong, president of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Committee of Hanoi, and Thanome Thamthong, chairman of the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC)’s chapter in Vientiane, shared experience in front affairs and signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on bilateral co-operation for the 2023 to 2025 period during talks held on June 28 in Hanoi.

Welcoming the Lao delegation, Huong praised the growing special ties between both sides, which has become special in terms of relationships among nations.

She underlined the close-knit links between the two Parties, States, and peoples, as well as the two capitals of Hanoi and Vientiane, with expanding investment and trade partnership and mutual support across multiple fields.

Most notably, during the COVID-19 period both sides helped each other in pandemic prevention and combat, showing strong sentiments that the two nations offer support for each other, she said.

Huong noted that the VFF Committee of Hanoi and the LFNC’s chapter in Vientiane signed a MoU in 2013, enabling strong exchanges between the two sides.

Both sides have since dispatched many delegations to each other’s country to exchange experience and deepen mutual understanding. Moving forward, the two sides will conduct specific and practical actions aimed at further promoting their partnership, she said.

She affirmed that the VFF Committee of Hanoi will strive to reinforce the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

In response, Thamthong applauded the achievements that the VFF Committee of Hanoi has gained, especially in terms of strengthening the great national solidarity bloc, the tradition of harmony, and patriotism of the Vietnamese people.

He showed his elation that along with the growth of ties between the two Parties, States, and capitals, the partnership between the two fronts has also been fruitful. He said he believes that the VFF Committee of Hanoi will reap greater success in the time to come.

During talks, leaders of the VFF Committee of Hanoi and the LFNC’s chapter in Vientiane signed a MoU on co-operation for the 2023 to 2025 period.

This comes after Nguyen Thi Tuyen, member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, also hosted a reception for the Lao delegation on June 27.
