Hanoi marks Sultanate of Oman’s National Day

(VOV) -The 45th anniversary of the blessed Renaissance Day was celebrated by the Oman Embassy in Hanoi on November 18.

In a speech, Omani Ambassador to Vietnam Sultan bin Saif bin Hilal Al Mahrouqi praised the positive development of Oman - Vietnam relations since the Joint Declaration was issued on June 9, 1992.

The two countries have signed a number of bilateral cooperation agreements on trade,  establishment of the Joint Committee on Economic cooperation; encouragement and mutual protection of investment, establishment of the Omani - Vietnamese Business Council; avoidance of double taxation, regulation of air transportation, establishment the bilateral consultation between the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs, as well as MOU on Manpower.

The two governments are making every effort to expand bilateral cooperation in the fields of trade, investment, agriculture, fisheries, tourism, transport, sea ports, telecommunications, high education, health, culture and information, with their commitment to overcome obstacles, exploit potential, and create new opportunities for joint cooperation.

On his part, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vu Hong Nam extended his best wishes to the Omani people while saying Vietnam- Oman trade exchanges remain modest and should be further enhanced to fully tap the two countries’ huge potential.

He said he hopes the closer relationship between the two nations will grow and flourish in the time ahead based on mutual understanding and trust.
