Greetings to India on 78th Independence Day

Vietnamese leaders on August 15 extended greetings to their Indian counterparts on the 78th Independence Day (August 15, 1947 - 2024) of the country.

Party General Secretary and State President To Lam sent his greetings to Indian President Droupadi Murmu, while Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh did the same to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent greetings to Chairman of the Indian Upper House (Rajya Sabha) Jagdeep Dhankha, and Speaker of the Indian Lok Sabha (the lower house) Om Birla.

The same day, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son extended his greetings to Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar.

Vietnam and India set up diplomatic ties in 1972 and elevated the relations to a comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016.
