Government leader receives commander of Iran’s law enforcement force

At the meeting, the Vietnamese Government chief said Vietnam aspires to work with Iran to make contributions to regional and global peace, cooperation and development, and seeks to boost cooperative ties with Iran across a variety of fields, including economy, trade, investment, health, science-technology, tourism, agriculture and security.
Emphasizing Vietnam's significant role in Iran's external policy, the commander told Chinh that there is substantial potential for collaboration between the two nations, adding that Iran is eager and ready to enhance such ties, especially in economy, trade, security.
The brigadier general briefed PM Chinh on the outcomes of the recent talks with the Vietnamese Ministry of Public Security and said that both sides signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation. He also conveyed an invitation from Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Mokhber for PM Chinh to officially visit the southwestern Asian nation for the promotion of bilateral ties.
The Vietnamese Government leader suggested Vietnam and Iran effectively carry out agreements reached during the Vietnamese National Assembly Chairman’s visit to Iran. He also asked for the swift organization of the 10th session of their intergovernmental committee this year and the enhancement of delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level ones, to explore mutual needs and potential cooperation areas.
Chinh underlined the need to take advantage of opportunities in agro-fishery trade and the Halal industry.
It is essential to intensify information exchange and operational coordination in security, as well as step up joint efforts to tackle transnational crimes and issues concerning Vietnamese and Iranian citizens. Additionally, he encouraged better collaboration in education, training, tourism, labour, and people-to-people and locality-to-locality exchanges.
Regarding regional and international issues, the two sides consented to beef up bilateral cooperation and mutual support at international forums in which both of them are members.
