Government leader hosts Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Chairman

VOV.VN -Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has proposed the two sides continue to upgrade existing mechanisms, and create the most favorable conditions for customs clearance at border gates while receiving Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region of China Chen Wu in Hanoi on April 20.

PM Phuc asked Guangxi to facilitate cross-border trade, swiftly pilot the one-stop shop mechanism, and develop logistics infrastructure to elevate two-way trade to a higher level.

He underscored the importance of realizing common agreements and perceptions by senior leaders of the two Parties and States as well as further strengthening the comprehensive partnership between Guangxi and Vietnam, and between Guangxi and Vietnamese border localities.

The Vietnamese government leader agreed with Chen’s proposal to upgrade transport connectivity between Guangxi and Vietnamese localities and welcomed Guangxi’s capable business to do business in Vietnam.

Both sides need to step up cooperation in culture, health care, education, labour and people-to-people exchanges, as well as in the fight against crimes and the maintenance of a borderline of peace and friendship, thereby making positive contributions to the common achievements between the two Parties, States and people, Phuc stressed.

Chen Wu, in turn, said his visit is designed to continue to carry out common agreements and perceptions by senior leaders of the two Parties and States, noting that the success of PM Phuc’s official visit to China in October 2016 and his attendance at the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO), opened up a wealth of opportunities to bolster comprehensive cooperation between the two nations.

Guangxi-Vietnam trade value makes up one-third of the trade turnover between Guangxi and other countries in the world. Therefore, the province desires to promptly pilot the “Two Countries, One Destination” mechanism to facilitate customs clearance at border gates, he said.

The Chinese official said Guangxi is keen to enhance road and railway transport connectivity with Vietnamese border provinces and upgrade border gates and suggested both sides should advance cooperation in culture and health care.

He pledged Guangxi’s efforts to go ahead with the building of a borderline of peace and friendship with Vietnam, intensify the fight against cross-border smuggling and transnational crimes, and well prepare for the upcoming CAEXPO with an expectation for Vietnam’s participation in the event.
