Government leader hosts Chinese Vice Foreign Minister
VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hosted a reception on February 26 in Hanoi for Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong, who is on a visit to Vietnam and attending the 2nd ASEAN Future Forum.

During their meeting, Prime Minister Chinh conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and other senior Vietnamese leaders to Party General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang, and other top Chinese officials.
The Vietnamese Government chief noted his appreciation for the participation of the Chinese delegation and voiced confidence that their contributions would help ensure the success of the ASEAN Future Forum.
Highlighting the positive trajectory of Vietnam-China relations, PM Chinh called on the two foreign ministries to further enhance their role as standing bodies of the Vietnam-China Bilateral Cooperation Steering Committee. He urged both sides to intensify high-level exchanges between the two Parties and governments, boost coordination across key areas, and accelerate priority infrastructure projects.
In particular, he emphasized the importance of making concrete progress on the Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong standard-gauge railway and expediting discussions to finalize a protocol on exporting Vietnamese agricultural products to China. Additionally, he stressed the need to strengthen closer people-to-people ties, especially among younger generations.
Chinh underscored the importance of fully realizing high-level common perception, effectively managing differences, and maintaining peace and stability in the region.
For his part, Vice Foreign Minister Sun Weidong affirmed that the Chinese Party and Government view relations with Vietnam as a priority in their neighborhood diplomacy. He reiterated China’s commitment to working hand in hand with the Vietnam Ministry of Foreign Affairs to carry out high-level agreements, deepen cooperation across a variety of fields, and further propel the Vietnam-China Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership forward and their vision for a community with a shared future. He emphasized that these efforts would bring practical benefits to both nations and their people.
