Government chief hails Indonesian investment in Vietnam

VOV.VN - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh greatly valued the investment of Indonesian firms in the nation while receiving leaders of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) and Indonesian enterprises on September 5 on the margins of the 43rd ASEAN Summit and related meetings in Jakarta.

During the meeting, Indonesian businesses applauded the potential for co-operation between firms of the two countries.

They went on to brief the Vietnamese Government chief on their business performance in the Vietnamese market and expressed their hopes at continuing investing there in fields such as finance – banking, green transition, particularly renewable energy and electric vehicles, mining, real estate, and agricultural production.

PM Chinh outlined that nearly 70 years after establishing diplomatic ties, especially the 10 years of their strategic partnership, the co-operation relationship between the two countries is developing prosperously towards becoming a comprehensive strategic partnership.

That is therefore an important foundation for businesses of the two countries to co-operate, invest, and further develop, he added.

He welcomed and agreed with participants on the areas of the businesses’ interest that fall in line with the development orientation of the two countries and the wider world.

Chinh requested that enterprises of the two countries, especially KADIN and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), move to strengthen connectivity and information exchanges, develop specific, practical, long-term, stable co-operation programmes, projects, and agreements, as well as ensuring harmonised interests of the parties.

According to information given by the PM, the future will see Vietnam continue to target maintaining macroeconomic stability, promoting growth, and controlling inflation, all whilst ensuring major balances of the economy.

The country will continue to boost administrative reform and intensify the application of science-technology, innovation, digital transformation, the development of the digital economy, digital society, green economy, circular economy, and sharing economy.

The PM called on Indonesian businesses and investors to continue to optimise the capabilities and advantages of the two sides, enhance social responsibility, whilst growing and flourishing together with the Vietnamese side.

The Government leader added that Indonesian enterprises should seek to boost investment in areas in which Indonesia has strengths and Vietnam has demand.

With the motto of "harmonious benefits, shared risks", the Vietnamese Government affirms to accompany, support, and create favourable conditions for foreign investors in general and Indonesian ones, he said.
