Friendship festival to celebrate Vietnam – Laos diplomatic ties

This information was revealed by Dinh Tien Dung, deputy director general of the Authority of Foreign Information Service at the Ministry of Information and Communications, at a press conference on November 6.

The occasion will be jointly held by the Ministry of Information and Communications and the provincial People’s Committee with the aim of promoting the image of Vietnamese innovation and development and highlighting the Vietnam – Laos traditional friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive co-operation.

The festival’s organizing board will further intensify information activities focusing on three pillars; including strengthening joint co-operation in the field of information and communication; boosting investment, trade, and tourism promotion activities between the two nations in general and Vietnamese and Laotian border localities; and people-to-people exchanges, especially those in border areas.

It will also include a photo exhibition, a trade fair, a science seminar, and an art performance exchange.

These activities will serve to highlight the history and development of the special friendship, as well as the outstanding achievements in information and communication co-operation between the two countries.

As part of the occasion, both sides will discuss prospects and challenges in joint press and media co-operation, as well as solutions to expand ties in this area moving forward. Digital transformation trends in journalism and communication, as well as the role of information and popularisation in promoting trade and investment ties between the two countries, will also be raised for discussion.

The festival is expected to further contribute to deepening the traditional friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive ties between the two countries.
