Vietnam Fatherland Front leader Bui Thi Minh Hoai re-elected at VFF Congress
VOV.VN - Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member and Secretary of the Party Central Committee, has been re-elected Chairwoman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) for the 2026–2031 term.
The appointment was confirmed through a consultative election process during the closing session of the 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front held in Hanoi on May 13.
Speaking after her re-election, Hoai described the confidence placed in the new leadership as both an honour and a significant responsibility for the organisation’s new term.
On behalf of newly selected members of the 11th VFF Central Committee, she expressed gratitude to the Party, the State, citizens and armed forces nationwide for their continued trust and support toward the Vietnam Fatherland Front.
“We pledge absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland and the people; to uphold political integrity and moral values; and to devote our full efforts to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to us,” she said at the closing ceremony.
According to the VFF leader, the new term will prioritise strengthening national unity and promoting reforms in the operations of the Vietnam Fatherland Front to further reinforce its role and position during the country’s next stage of development.
She also expressed hope for continued guidance from the Politburo and the Party Secretariat, along with stronger coordination from ministries, agencies, socio-political organisations and localities.
The chairwoman additionally called for ongoing support from experts, intellectuals, overseas Vietnamese communities and member organisations affiliated with the VFF to make its operation more effective.
The 11th National Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front concluded at the National Convention Centre in Hanoi on the morning of May 13 after two and a half days of sitting.
The event gathered 1,136 delegates representing various social groups, member organisations, ethnic communities, religious groups, armed forces and overseas Vietnamese communities.
Delegates reviewed reports summarising discussions and presentations delivered during the congress, as well as the results of the first conference of the 11th VFF Central Committee.
According to a report presented by Ha Thi Nga, vice president and secretary-general of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the congress selected 397 members to participate in the organisation’s 11th Central Committee for the 2026–2031 term.
The committee’s first conference also selected 70 members for the Presidium and 12 members for the Standing Board.
