Two Government ministers to be grilled over key issues

VOV.VN - The National Assembly Standing Committee is scheduled to question the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Foreign Affairs about issues of common concern at its 31st session on March 18, according to the National Assembly’s Office.

Finance Minister Ho Duc Phoc is anticipated to answer questions about the management and supervision of insurance business activities and services, the licensing of companies that provide finance-related services, and the enforcement of laws on lottery, betting, casino and prize-winning electronic games.

He will also answer questions about customs procedures, customs inspection and supervision; measures to prevent and combat smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across borders; and the management of prices of goods and services on the list of goods and services priced by the State.

Deputy Prime Minister Le Minh Khai and ministers in charge of investment, trade, public security, national defense, and Governor of the State Bank will support Minister Phoc in clarifying some related issues.

Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son will answer questions about the protection of Vietnamese citizens abroad; law violations by Vietnamese nationals abroad and foreigners in Vietnam; and the protection of the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese fishermen at sea.

He will also talk about the implementation of bilateral and multilateral agreements and solutions to promote the implementation of economic, trade and investment cooperation agreements; and the ministry’s efforts in expanding export markets and helping Vietnamese businesses avoid fraud.

Among other issues, Minister Son will also talk about the management, improvement of qualifications and organizational capacity of the diplomatic sector, as well as solutions to strengthen the fight against corruption and negativity in diplomatic activities.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, and ministers in charge of public security, national defense, justice, agriculture, trade, investment, finance, culture, tourism, labour, home affairs, and Government Inspector General, will also clarify some other related issues.
