Six bills to be passed at year-end legislature session

VOV.VN - The National Assembly is anticipated to adopt six bills and give opinions on seven others during its year-end session, according to Bui Van Cuong, general secretary of the current 15th legislature.

The National Assembly is expected to convene its fourth session in Hanoi from October 20 to November 18 to examine various key national issues and consider major socio-economic development targets for 2023, Cuong said at the ongoing meeting of the National Assembly Standing Committee in Hanoi on July 12.

Lawmakers will spend 10 and a half days on legislation, including approving six bills and a resolution, and giving opinions on seven other bills, said the National Assembly general secretary.

Among the bills, the revised Land Law, a much anticipated legal document, will be tabled for discussion for the first time. Amendments will be submitted to the National Assembly Standing Committee in September for consideration before they are submitted to the National Assembly at the year-end session.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue admitted that the revised Land Law is a difficult legal document that requires thorough preparations before it is presented for discussions.

He requested that the General Secretary of the National Assembly soon submit a plan to organize a meeting of full-time deputies to give opinions on the law.
