President Luong Cuong pays Tet visit to armed forces of Military Region 9
VOV.VN - President Luong Cuong on January 16 visited and extended greetings to the Command and armed forces of Military Region 9 in the leadup to the Lunar New Year 2025 holiday (Tet).
Over the past year, the armed forces of Military Region 9 focused on realistic exercises to enhance combat readiness. They effectively handled situations without being caught off guard, built robust defensive zones and expanded the reserve force and widespread militia network.
In addition, they also actively engaged in disaster response and rescue efforts, as well as other community activities to help strengthen public trust in the Party, State, and Military.
President Luong Cuong commended the Military Region 9 armed forces for their remarkable achievements, and emphasized 2025 is a pivotal year as it marks a phase of “acceleration and breakthrough” in achieving the goals set by the 13th National Party Congress.
He requested that the armed forces of Military Region 9 highly stay vigilant and effectively fulfil combat, operational, and production tasks. He asked them to improve public relations work and support local authorities in building comprehensive national defense and public trust.
The President urged the Command of Military Region 9 to ensure the material and spiritual well-being of officers and soldiers, especially during the Lunar New Year holiday.
He reminded them to provide special care for those living in difficult circumstances, to ensure they remain committed to their service.
On this occasion, President Luong Cuong presented Lunar New Year gifts and conveyed his heartfelt wishes for the upcoming Lunar New Year, to all officers and soldiers across the Military Region.
The same day, the President also offered incense at the Memorial site of Chairman of the Council of Ministers Pham Hung and the Memorial site of Prime Minister Vo Van Kiet in Vinh Long province.
